Akilah Hugine

Akilah Hugine is an M.S. student in the Bradley Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Virginia Tech. She expects to complete her degree in May 2006. Her research focus is in the area of cognitive radio, concentrating on signal classification and spectrum monitoring and analysis. Her advisor is Dr. Charles Bostian.
Akilah received her B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from North Carolina A&T State University in May 2004. Akilah is an Intel Scholarship recipient and also a GEM (National Consortium for Graduate Degrees for Minorities in Engineering & Science Inc.) Fellow. As part of her fellowship, Akilah worked as a Signal Processing Engineer at the MITRE Corporation, a Department of Defense FFRDC.
Akilah was a member of Tau Beta Pi and Eta Kappa Nu honorary societies. Akilah enjoys participating in various outdoor and indoor sports, listening to music, cooking, and spending time with family.
